This
faithful recreation of a Southeast Asian riverbank community
is part of a 25,000 square foot experiential exhibit that
envelops zoo patrons in an exotic atmosphere.
Environmental
replication—highlighted by lush landscape, waterfalls,
mist, and authentic atmospheric sounds recorded in the forests
of Asia—is delicately blended with architectural elements
to create an adventurous, educational, and entertaining setting
for guests. Zoologically-approved habitats for six rare and
endangered species are integrated into the design package.
McBride
had complete design responsibility over all aspects of the
exhibit, including patron areas, habitats, nighthouses, and
all service/maintenance facilities. |
