An obscure
law in Austin, Texas requiring all buildings be shorter than
the State Capitol prompted the Lakeline Mall entertainment
core's fascinating design: all of the "buildings"
literally bend over so as not to appear taller than the Capitol,
bending the limits of architecture and mall design in the
process.
McBride
Company provided a fanciful, imaginative blend of entertaining
facades, animated props, and unique signage and graphics,
creating an intriguing respite within this destination regional
mall.
In addition
to winning numerous design awards, Lakeline Mall was featured
in American Shopping Centers II, a hardcover book by I.M.
Tao.
Lakeline
was also on the cover of Shopping Center World magazine and
featured in the local papers as a
work of art.
